- Building the College of Agricultural and Food Sciences in Al-Ahsa for King Fahd University
In 2021, we implemented the project to establish the College of Agricultural and Food Sciences at King Fahd University in Al-Ahsa Governorate, with a total value of 38,914,933 Saudi riyals.
The project:
The college buildings were built on a total area of 14,000 square metres.
The project included the construction of the college’s main buildings, including classrooms, laboratories, and administrative offices.
Advanced mechanical and electrical systems have been installed, including air conditioning, ventilation, lighting and electrical power systems.
The buildings are equipped with the latest technologies and equipment necessary to meet the needs of the educational and research process.
The project also included infrastructure works such as roads, corridors, squares and public services.
Main cost items:
Excavation and backfilling works: 2,500,000 riyals
Concrete works: 12,000,000 riyals
Construction and finishing works: 15,000,000 riyals
Mechanical and electrical works: 9,414,933 riyals
The project was implemented according to the highest engineering and construction standards, taking into account the specific requirements for higher education buildings. This project contributed to supporting the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 to develop education and scientific research.
- Building and construction standards:
Local and international building requirements such as Saudi Building Regulations, American Building Regulations (IBC) and others are adhered to.
Seismic design standards for buildings were applied in accordance with the Saudi Construction Regulations.
High quality building materials were selected that comply with standard specifications. -
Mechanical and electrical standards:
HVAC systems are installed in accordance with global ASHRAE standards.
The lighting and electrical power system is designed according to IEC and NEC standards.
Fire protection systems were installed in accordance with Saudi Civil Defense requirements. - Health and safety standards:
Occupational health and safety standards OHSAS 18001 are applied.
The buildings are designed to achieve the highest LEED environmental quality standards.
It has been ensured that all materials used comply with environmental and health standards. - Standards for education and scientific research:
Specific requirements for higher education and university buildings were taken into account.
Sufficient spaces have been allocated for classrooms and research laboratories.
The buildings are equipped with modern technologies to support the educational and research process.
In this way, it was ensured that this project was implemented according to the highest international standards to ensure quality construction and sustainable operation of the facilities.
